What's new in MyWay

Every app update, short and to the point. New versions go through App Store and Google Play review first, so they reach your phone within a few days.

Version 1.7.1 Waiting for App Store and Google Play review

A fresh Liquid Glass look

We rebuilt MyWay around Apple's new design language: fewer frames, more city. The map now fills the screen and everything else floats above it on clear glass.

  • The map runs edge to edge, under the status bar and the tab bar. The title, explored area, layers and walk buttons float above it.
  • Clearer and livelier glass: map colours show through, the rim catches the light, and buttons give a little under your finger.
  • A glass lens sits under the selected tab and flows to the next one. Sheets float in from the screen edges.
  • Your position now sits in the middle of the visible map, not behind the walk card.
  • Settings, Places, Leaderboard, History and backup are regrouped with coloured icons and a summary at the top.
  • iPhone only: a Live Activity on the Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, the “Your map” widget, and Siri — “Start a walk in MyWay”.
  • Share a walk as a picture of your route and discoveries; the start and end stay hidden.
  • MyWay now tells you when a new version is available.
Version 1.5.0

The Places tab

  • Sights you walk past are collected automatically, including from past walks. Progress for Riga, Jūrmala, Nicosia, Limassol and Larnaca, and three new badges.
  • MyWay notices places you keep coming back to — home, work, a favourite café — and offers to save them, with visits and time spent.
  • Your places stay on your phone.
Version 1.4.1

Stories behind places

  • Tap a sight to read a description from OpenStreetMap or Wikipedia, with a link to the source.
  • Expand longer descriptions and reread loaded text offline.
  • Descriptions follow your app language when available.
Version 1.4.0

Sights on the map

  • Museums, monuments, historic places and viewpoints on the map in Latvia and Cyprus.
  • Green-and-gold enamel icons on the map and in place cards.
  • Springing markers, animated badges and lively results.
  • Record walks on your watch — Apple Watch and Wear OS.
Version 1.3.0

Steps and badges

  • Steps today and during your walks.
  • Badges for discoveries and a celebration for new streets.
  • Optional usage statistics: off by default; routes and steps are never sent.
Version 1.2.0

Explorer leaderboard

  • An optional leaderboard of explored area under a nickname you choose. Rename or leave at any time.
  • The map opens faster at your last position.
Version 1.0
